Not a funny situation!

So I'm doing the last mission of the Mage's college when suddenly the power goes out. I don't save for almost 2 hours(don't ask why), dumb mistake I always save and of course the one time. I'm not happy. Not only that my prior saves may be deleted from my ps3 because stupid ps3 didn't shut off correctly, obvious. I swear California gets rain it's like a blizzard back in New England.

Any similair stories our there. Anything where you lost a bunch of gameplay over something stupid. I need to feel better by hearing your horrible stories of you losing data. I know it's wrong but I'm steaming right now. Not only that my computer was in the middle of a reformat. Luckily I have my phone. I can't be cut off from the world of tech and entertainment. Back to angry birds it is and my Netflix app. Oh well.

Luxury of auto saves prevail!!

But that even that doesn't apply to the 2 first times I started the game it CTD the moment I was about to get off the carriage and had to start over.. (main reason why I want it to be skip option for it)

The other day, I killed a dragon, and accidentally FUS RO DAH!'d a guard while I was looting the corpse. Got a 20 Septim bounty for it, but the entire town of Riverwood started mobbing me. I eventually had to reload the save when they killed J'zargo. :cryvaultboy:

Another time, I was adventuring on my Gandolf wannabe. I had killed two dragons and cleared several dungeons. Just as I'm about to save the game, my little sister walks in and spills hot chocolate on the power strip. Save file corrupted (my PS3 is really finnicky in how you power it off), 60-hour character down the tubes. :swear:

I had a crash that wiped out my whole system! It was so horrible, I wish I could just acronis my ps3 every couple days. Lovely Skyrim, I think it actually hates me. That's how much crashing I get, it has actually made me wonder if a game is out to get me. Of course I have autosave disabled to crash less, so when it does go it can really hurt. Last week I did the same quest four times in a row. First I lost two hours, then one hour, then about forty minutes and then the same again so I just gave up on it. I'm still too afraid to get 1.3 because I hear it's worse. I'm not as frustrated as I was though, now when I start going crazy I use the JDP fix (Just Don't Play). I highly recommend it. I reread ASOIAF and by the end of that all Skyrim stress was gone, although it was replaced by Jon Snow stress and night terrors over the state of George R R Martin's health. I just can't Game save loss is too horrible for me to consider 100's of hours of my wasted life just gone, I don't know if I could take it again.

Are you using quick save/quick load?

There's some thinking that those type saves eventually corrupt the data file. This was confirmed about a month ago by one of the moderators in a thread I read - Bethesda was looking at that. That was connected somehow to the size of the files increasing the longer you play a character.

Okay well I have horrible lag on ps3 so my autosaves were off, they are always off otherwise I can't play the game or it freezes. But not sure if I can even put the reason why on here. Let's just say I was on Skooma and was not thinking clearly.

What part of California do you live in? Sure as hell aint SoCal...

No not So cal. We live about 30 miles north of San Fran. Usually it's Sunny, rain never falls here so when it does the whole place freaks out. They cannot handle it at all. Especially when it down poors for 3 days straight.

Good news anyway. I woke up and I saw that I had in fact saved, I only lost about 10 minutes. I don't remember saving at all but I did. Also I had no corrupt data. Actually my save backed up to cloud so I'm golden. It was a bad care accident around the corner. I feel bad now complaining about my stupid game knowing that people got seriously injured around the corner maybe even killed. I need to read the paper now and see. I know it ain't good. Actually I'd like this to be locked now that I know that people got hurt or maybe even killed.

That's hte problem with today's children, not only are they stupid, but also illiterate. DO YOU WISH TO DELETE THIS SAVE? Sorry to be so harsh, since I don't even know how old the son is and everything. It's just that I've had a similar experience. Even at 6 I knew what overwriting, save and delete meant.(trial and error :P)

Lost 20 hrs after getting stuck on Japhets folly while exploring map perimeter. All saves were on the island as flaming boulders rained down from the sky.....
