Does unwalled void cause Navmesh crashes?

I have a few cells where the void is not totally walled off (as in, more than just seams) and it seems whenever I try a recast based Navmesh generation, the CK crashes. Is this a known issue?

Does anyone know anything about this? I really don't want to do these huge areas by hand.

Try one of the other generation methods? Havok usually gives me the best results.

You can also highlight pieces and the CK will only generate for them, so highlight everything but the void areas and it shouldn't crash anymore. Though it's always a good idea to seal your level off from the void.

Havok also crashed. Thanks, I'll try the selective highlighting thing.
Selective highlighting also crashed.

Did advanced Object Generation and this seemed to work. Now if only I could get my NPCs to show up...
