Nexus mod manager problem and Skyrim Script extender problem

Post » Thu Jun 21, 2012 6:58 am

Hey everyone, just started trying to mod my game today so you can say i'm a newb at it.

Having some difficulties

The first and only mod i downloaded so far was the skyrim HD -2k textures mod. I downloaded it using the nexus mod manager. I was reading the readme however and it states 2. Start the Skyrim Launcher and look for the Data Files.
3. Be sure that all the files, starting with "Skyrim HD" are enabled."

When i open the data file link from the launcher there is nothing there. completely empty. So i don't think it's working.

2nd, I'm also trying to put in the skyrim script extender.

in step two it states: "2. Copy the .pex files in Data\Scripts\ into the Data\Scripts\ folder of your installation. The .pex files are needed by all users of SKSE." well i found the .pex files i need to copy, but there is no folder called scripts in my skyrim\data folder. the only things in there are the following

interface, strings, textures, and video folders
and then several .bsa files. and also the skyrim hd readme.

Am i missing something?

As Ysne said, that particular mod as no esm or ESP files, so there's no need to activate anything.

With regards to the scripts folder, if you copy the whole scripts folder from the mod into your data folder you will now have a data/scripts folder. It's that easy. Generally speaking if you just copy the data folder from a mod into your Skyrim main folder everything will align and merge perfectly. Of course keep reading the rearmed and whatnot, but a mod has to adhere to a certain structure to install its resources in the game, and the mods are almost always bundled in that structure to begin with.
