My Mod has STOPPED working

Post » Thu Jun 21, 2012 2:34 pm

Hello, i have a problem. My mod has just recently stopped working. The other day when i were working on it, it was all fine. But now when i play skyrim it does not work.

My mod begins with the "WICourier" quest so that a courier runs to me with a note. I′ve followed the tutorial on youtube called " Creation kit Tutorial Courier. Link bellow. And I have tested it before and everything worked. But all the sudden.. now it has stopped working. Any help or advice will be very much appreciated.

that is the tutorial i followed. and that is how my mod worked, until it stopped working.

We would need more information than that to help. What were the exact changes to your mod you made before it stopped working? And (not to be condescending) have you checked that your mod is actually loaded?

the thing is.. I did not change anything. I did continue my quest though. But i only applied some dialog voices. The dialog was already written when it worked. But all the sudden it doesn′t. And yes it is loaded

You made a change to your mod. That change the way it affected your game. You'll most likely have to load a save from before you first played it to get it to work.

Always when i try my mods i have a clean save before i even started the mod. I am always loading it when i am creating something new for a mod. And ofcourse that means that i have to do all the quests and all all the time. But to avoid bugs and such i think its the way to go. But however, my mod doesn′t even start anymore. That is the problem. Any suggestions?

Can't give you much. Have you enabled papyrus logging? Looking at the log after loading a failed start might give you a clue.

i tried following the information given on the site. But it seems like i have no ini.file and i tried to make a new one with a text doctument but it did′t work. Then i tried to edit my one of the existing files called SkyrimPrefs.

But it says that it should create some sort of log but it doesn′t . God im felling like such an idiot but any suggestions?

The file you want to modify is located in your saved games folder.

If you have the default settings and you're on Win7, it is located in Libraries > Documents > My Games > Skyrim.

Right click on Skyrim.ini and select Edit.
Find the entries just as they are listed on the Wiki.

Once you've made the changes and saved the file. Start Skyrim with a current save. Save it again in a new slot.
Shut down Skyrim completely. Restart with the newest save. You don't need to save again, just exit Skyrim.

Now you should see a Logs folder where the Skyrim.ini is. Open that folder and there is a Scripts folder.
Open that folder and there are your logs.
