Still trying to make expensive merchant - help needed.

Hello. I've been trying different ways to create a merchant that has:

1) Nothing to sell (Completed)
2) A lot of gold + 500,000 (Completed)
3) Buys items from the PC for about 10% of their value (Not complete)

I've tried altering the fBarterMin and fBarterMax settings but this seems to change all merchants not just one. I've tried adding 10% of an item's value to a variable as the items are placed in a chest but this only adds the base value of the item and doesn't include enchantments or smithing upgrades.
My latest idea was to change the Speech skill value of the merchant to 100 (Completed) and the Speech skill of the Player to 'very low' (just temporarily while dealing with this merchant - Not Completed).

Does anyone know of a way to reduce the speech skill for the player and then raise it back again and attach it (to say the OnOpen and OnClose events for a chest).
Any help appreciated. P.S. Hope I sort this out soon - I don't have many handfuls of hair left to pull out! :wallbash:

You could create a magic effect with a http://www.creationkit.com/DamageActorValue_-_Actorand apply it, then dispel it - or you could just give it a 1minute duration

Why would you bother doing this?

I mean I don't have a problem with experimenting but why would anyone use a merchant that gives them such a crappy deal.

Hi. My reason for doing this is that my house in Whiterun is full (really full!) of stuff I dont need and I want to sell it all. Trouble is I must have about 1 million gold worth of stuff and trying to sell all that would be very time consuming and boring. To do this effectively I would need to give a merchant 1,000,000 gold or maybe use console cheats. My alternative (to keep some sense of reality and balance in the game) is to create Imperial Army and Stormcloak 'donation' officers. These 'officers' would act as merchants with vast resources (i.e. 500,000 gold or whatever) and would take 'donations' (i.e. items bought really cheaply) from the player to help further their war efforts.
So, my main reasons for going to all this trouble are mainly to get rid of lots of stuff quickly but also to keep balance in the game.
