Vanilla weather labeling system?

Post » Thu Jun 21, 2012 7:00 am

Has anyone figured out how the naming system for weather form objects works?

For instance...

"SkyrimClearMA_A".

Obviously, "Skyrim" stands for the worldspace/province. "Clear" specifies what type. "_A" specifies that it will sport an aurora at night.

...But what's the "MA"? There are others, CO, FF, RE, SN, TU, VT, and then some without any specified odd two-letter code. What do they stand for?

Marsh
Coast
Fall Forest
Riverbed Edge
Snow
Tundra
Volcanic something

these are my guesses. this is the naming convention used for all the region-specific variants of landscape statics like RockPile, MountainCliff etc

Ahh, I didn't know _A was Aurora, aha!

And Amethyst is correct. CO is Coast, FF is Fall Forest, SN Snow, TU Tundra, VT Volcanic Tundra, MA Marsh.

It's the various biomes from around Skyrim.

RE = Reach, as in, "The Reach". Though, Markarth does have a river running through it...

Yeah, RE is Reach. The entire hold Markarth is capitol of is called that. They wouldn't have a weather system for 'rivers'. :P Maybe Ocean, if you were on a boat... Oh that would be awesome!
