It's raining inside

Post » Thu Jun 21, 2012 3:21 pm

I've made a cell based off the RiftenRatway1 cell. It rains inside my rooms. I turned off the show sky options and also copied all the items into a new empty cell based on aaaStorageCell (may not be exact name). Neither helped: it still rains inside.

Where should I look next?

Thanks,
Lance

It can't 'rain' inside as there is no weather for interior cells.

I think it's a camera effect. Is there a giant red box around the entire interior area? It would be an FXCameraAttachTrigger. If so, delete that. It attaches a 'dripping' effect to the camera that can be used to add to the atmosphere of very moist places. (Like sewers)

Or you can change the effect it uses. There are a lot of them. Dripping water, fog, dust blowing, slow blowing, snow falling, leaves fluttering about. A lot. (Change the properties in the scripts tab of the trigger's object reference window)

Thank you for the quick reply. I just checked and there are no red boxes or camera effects that I can find (doesn't mean it isn't hidden somewhere). The [rain | drip] stops after about a minute, so I guess I'll let it be for now.

if it is raining outside, or any kind of moisture FX, there is a glitch (im guessing this is not intentional) where the FX carries into your interior after the loadscreen if there is an FX object anywhere near the entrance of the interior.

the only way i know of to override this behavior is to place a non-camera based fx object somewhere clipped into geometry where it is hidden.

for example place a glow fill object near your exterior door somewhere and scale it down a little if it is visible and place it hidden behind other statics

Thanks for the tip Amethyst. I gave that a shot, but it still rained. I do see that it also "rains" in the Ratway cell that my cell is connected to, so at least it is a consistent experience.
