Sigdis Gaulder

Post » Thu Jun 21, 2012 7:19 pm

This guy is causing me a ton of grief, I'm at the part with the three gaulder brothers I get to Sigdis everyone of his copies is using force push (which pushes me into third person and I can't see my health bar, not cool) and disarm.
when the disarm works it almost seems to be worse than the push shout because the weapon doesn't just get knocked out of my hand it gets unrelenting force shoved into Oblivion. Really it has to be an Oblivion plane because it just disapears I turned down the difficultly level to look for it equipped a torch to help me see after that torch burned out I just gave up and reloaded the game its happened to me multiple times.
I decided I'd just keep the difficultly level down and try again, this time I get disarmed but find the weapon slash one or two of his copies they all teleport off then back, by this time I'm near the dais with the two brothers standing up there and I get hit by 3 or 4 force shouts (most of them are while I was down) and I get pushed up onto the ledge with the other two brothers and I'm stuck behind an invisible wall.
:swear:
Is there an easier way to kill this guy? I don't have many shouts and the only offensive magic spell I have is flames, I never worked the archery skill but I could probably pick up a bow and arrows off the ground.
I saved right before I got into a fight with this guy so I'm really stuck here and am considering to restart a new character. :bonk:

That had some excellent hints maybe I'll try it out one more time. If it doesn't work I always wanted to try out a Bosmer character in the previous 2 ES games but they were too creepy maybe I'll roll one this time.

I actually liked fightinf 3 of them. It seemed like a proper boss fight in skyrim, which is lacking to be honest.

I thought this fight was really easy even on Master... Not because I'm OMGSOOPERBADASS or anything, but because the Archer Guy's AI locked up and he just stood there.

I don't know what you mean by a proper boss, I've just never had as much problem with a teleporting/replicating enemy like sigdis/sidgis whatever his name is. Even Pinwheel from Dark Souls was an easier opponent.

By the third time I saw him, I used sneak with my bow drawn, and got him with 2x damage.
I might have even used an invisibility potion, not sure.
I do know I dropped him before he duplicated tho, and that's key, unless you like scooting up those stairs and sniping all of them from cover.....which I did NOT! lol

Boss battles in many other games tend to be difficult, especially on higher settings, since they're supposed to be dangerous opponents. In contrast to this, bosses in Skyrim tend to be laughably easy, especially once you have high(er)-end gear. As you play Dark Souls, you've probably run into at least a few bosses of the sort he means.

That all Boss Fights are easy in Skyrim, and this one seemed like a good one to fight, because you have to get all broken amulets scattered around skyrim, and get to fight all of the brothers that had each part of the amulet to get their power from it. If you read the journal, it's really intresting to read.

See this is where high sneak and archery come in very handy.
Niamh just crouched in the shadows and picked them and then him off, using only steel arrows and an ebony bow.

Worked like a charm.

With high marksman and stealth skills, this battle is very easy. Just hide on top of a coffin and pin down everything that moves. The real problems start when you're a melee user.

Funny - first time through he was merely annoying, second play through I cursed again and again! The disarm shout had me crying. I missed wiping him right away, and after that it was misery. the hardest fight - almost - for me.
