How do I remove a door?

Post » Thu Jun 21, 2012 10:01 pm

I'm creating a basemant for the BreezeHome. My lower wall needs to go into the next room. I used farmBWallentrance01 but I don't want the door on it. Any way to remove the door? A switch maybe?

If the door is part of the wall mesh then there is nothing you can do.

If you are referring to a pre-existing door object, then you can just double click it and check 'initially disabled' and it wont show up ingame.

Either retexture the door out of the model (saving it as a variant of course) - or keep the picture of the door if appropriate and just make it inoperable.

You are I assume using a separate cell to create your own cellar right?

Thank you all so much for the help.

Yes, I am using a separate cell. I fixed the problem by not using that piece, then using a different door, i.e. FarmBDivider02 with a door of FarmhouseAnimDoor01.
That did the trick. It looks cool but my follower won't follow me. I think it's because I haven't navmeshed it yet.
This is my first attempt.
Under the Breezehome's stairs there is a few barrels and some crated.
I marked them Initially Disabled, then moved them outside the house. Next I added a trap door FarmBTrapdoor01, and wired it up. It works great!
I now have another room to store stuff.

Do I have to do anything to the cell so it won't respawn and eat my things? Maybe mark it owned? I set Encounter Zone to NoResetZone

I've navmeshed part of the basemant and made sure the trap door was on top of the navmesh in the Breeze home but Sven won't follow me. Himmm.

Finalize! Don't forget to check the checkmark. That's what I was missing. And be sure your teleport door marker is not under the steps too.

Worked!

Just make sure any containers you put in there are non-respawning ones and you should be fine.
