Anyone else saving skill points for future add-ons?

Post » Thu Jun 21, 2012 8:31 am

I designed my character to only use 68 perks, so that I have an extra 12 in case future add-ons come out that don't include a level increase or more skill points. When the DLC came out for Fallout: New Vegas, I was upset that each only added an option to pick 2 or 3 perks, yet each pack came with ~10 perks to choose from.

Thankfully, with Skyrim, I don't have to pick perks as soon as I level up. So I'm gonna save them in case new skill trees come out in the future (like Werewolf, Vampire, Werebear, Polearms, etc.)

So is anyone else doing this?

No. With my experience so far I believe that starting new character will be very important in order to avoid bugs that introduced by the DLC. That ended up being the best fix for Fallout 3 problems after its DLC dropped. I believe it will be the same for Skyrim. Good bet anyway. So saving points will not help in this case.

Besides... if the DLC is really cool... I may want some part of it to benefit an early level character. Like having my own house to build....... he hopes....

I'm betting we get the chance to level our characters up to 100. That's 19 more perks and maybe one or two new perk trees to go with them.

Kinda'. :P I have a few unused ones on both characters so I'm saving them either for expansions or boredom.

I've got like 38 unused perk points, I'm not saving them for anything I just don't have a use for 'em.

Not in the least bit.
I wait till I have enough to get some perks, sometimes. But that is it.
I am not waiting for dlc. I don't trust bethesda with dlc.
When dlc comes out, whatever character I have will do it.

Plus, if they add new skill trees they'd likely up the level cap.
Meaning we'd have more perk points to use anyway.

It seems I play too many characters, because I've never leveled high enough to be concerned with how many perks are still available to me.

Well, I made a character recently and he's a very low level (10 or 11 i think) so I think I will just play on that character for DLC so I can level up as I go along.

Well, seeing as The Elder Scrolls series has yet to delve deeply into Jyggalag, the Daedric Prince of Order, it would be cool if he appeared in DLC and gave us an artifact that let us reset skill points. Maybe a Book.
