Dawnbreaker: Sting or not?

Post » Thu Jun 21, 2012 8:44 pm

So this is a really fast and simple question regarding the Deadric sword "Dawnbreaker"

It says on websites such as on the Skyrim Wiki and Skyrim USEP that Dawnbreaker glows more brightly when you're near undead. Earlier today I entered a nord ruin and fought some Dragur (or however you spell it) and the sword SEEMED to glow a bit brighter when I first entered the ruins, but it just stayed like that the whole time so I wasn't fully sure.

Anyway my question is, DOES Dawnbreaker glow brighter when you're NEAR undead? or does it just glow brighter, and stay glowing like that, when you enter a dungeon with undead in it?

I'm just asking because the brightness never seemed to noticeably change when I came near the Dragur, and when there were none around. It just seemed to constantly glow from the moment I entered the dungeon.

So yeah, if anyone has any answers from personal experience or research that would be awesome.

It only really works if you switch to isometric view.

I'm not gonna pretend I know what Isometric means.

TC, I think it just glows at the start of the dungeon because the range it detects undead is pretty large. But I don't know for sure.

In 3rd person camera the "shinies" go a bit faster and are longer making it seem brighter. The "shinies" are the light rays coming of the blades hilt. Ive noticed it do it when I enter an area that has undead in it, but I have not used the blade enough to know if its per dungeon or per enemy or if its just a coincidence.

I not sure the sword does glow a little brighter in some dungeons.

You mostly notice it outside in the world when you come across skeletons outdoors. Inside a dungeon you're always near undead so it glows bright the entire time.

It would work better if they adjusted the range on it.
