ForceGreet Completely Broken

Post » Thu Jun 21, 2012 5:47 pm

Somehow a ForceGreet that was working perfectly suddenly stopped working.

I have no idea what I may have done. The character runs away instead of to the player:

I've tried everything I can think of to get him to work again. I've set conditionals, like if the player ref is with X units, if the quest is at a certain stage, all kinds of different setting for radius etc.

Can someone give me some ideas what is going on with this guy?

As I said, the ForceGreet was working and boom....it ain't.

Thanks for any ideas!

This may have to do with the serious of dialogue bugs. I know for me that all dialogue is broken and no longer functions at all. Since a ForceGreet leads directly to dialogue, it would most likely have adverse effects...

I've also put the script on the character itself, rather than the alias in the quest and I have the same results.

Are you saying that since ver 1.6 was released the bug showed up? It would make sense as that is about the time I started to get this.

At least for me. As of 1.6, neither I nor any of my testers can get any dialogue in my mod (About 1500 lines of it) to work. No subtitles appear, no audio is played. Dialogue just doesn't function. This may be another side-effect of that.

I just happened to think...

I have two other ForceGreets that work perfectly just before this character.

It's only this character that is giving a ForceGreet problem

After much hair pulling and gnashing of teeth I think I got it working, mostly.

I had a lot of playing around with the dialog, placing the xmarker to detect the player, and setting conditionals to make it work.

The only problem is the character first runs away from the player then turns around and greets him.

That's better than what I've had for the past 24 hours :)
