I want to make a shout that allows you to enslave a dragon when their health gets under the 10 percent range, kind of like the Dovahkiin did with Odahviing. I don't know this for sure, but I think Odahviing spends most of his time flying around High Wrothgar and just comes when you call him.
What I'm thinking is that this shout would work on ANY dragon in the game (including those packed with mods, e.g. - Deadly Dragons, Skyrim http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/703712-enslave-dragon-shout/# Mod). The first level word would allow you to enslave dragons up to level 30, second up to level 60, third up to level 90, and so on. After you use the shout on them, the dragon would fly off to some predetermined location (again, a lot like Odahviing) and basically just patrol the area until you use a second power to call on him.
Without getting ahead of myself, I think there's a lot of different paths you could go with this. Maybe with a large time investment (balancing obviously isn't a top priority here, but some wouldn't hurt) you could gain the power to enslave two or three dragons and call on them all at the same time. I have this picture in my head of the Dovahkiin rolling into Solitude and summoning three enslaved Dracolich's on the entire population, decimating the whole town.
The problems I see here are:
- you probably wouldn't be able to use the same shout to enslave and call the dragons
- I've been told shouts are really tricky to work with, opposed to just making spells
- if you did eventually want to enslave and call on multiple dragons, that gets into making a bunch of different shouts, or needing to implement a power that brings up some kind of menu or something
- again, http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1384493-idea-enslave-dragon-shout/# obviously isn't a high priority with something like this, but this could seriously unbalance the game
Does anyone have any idea where I would even start with this? I'm thinking the Odahviing scripts for the main plot event and the Call Dragon shout, but I don't even know where to locate the effects for those. Any thoughts?
