Can't get giant skeletons to talk

I have these giant skeletons, and they are supposed to have some silent dialogue to allow the player to mess with them, but it isn't working. The darn things won't talk to me. I have normal sized skeletons that talk fine. Has anyone had issues with talking giant things?

are you sure its not related to patch 1.6's dialogue bugs

Yeah. This was happening before 1.6.

Shameless bump.

I've replaced their voices from crSkeleton to a custom voice, and the blighters still won't speak to me. Can someone verify that giant actors are speakable? I've made sure their race has dialogue enabled and has ActorTypeNPC as a keyword, and still nothing. Getting frustrated...

Do subtitles work, Ducey, or nothing at all?

Have you tried something stupidly vanilla like "Default Nord" Voice? Will it work with that?

Any dialogue, or only "Follower" dialogue?

I can see no reason once the race is setup, given a valid voice (plus audio files) and the right keywords, why it would not work? You can do talking dogs ... so I'm puzzled what the differecne is .. I can't see why "large NPCs" wouldn't work ...
