Odd Transition Problem

Post » Thu Jun 21, 2012 4:13 pm

Added a new room today to a dungeon level I've been working on, jumped into the game to test it out, all seems ok but now whenever I exit the dungeon the game takes me to a blank worldspace then crashes. If I delete the room I just added, save, then jump back into the game everything is OK once again -- I end up outside without any problems when I exit the dungeon.

Is there something I'm missing here? I'm not sure I know why adding an extra room to this interior area causes the front door to take me to a blank world. I've tried deleting the front door, both the door in the interior space and the door in the exterior space, and re-linked them, however this does not appear to have solved the problem. I've also tried deleting parts of the room but it seems that the problem occurs as long as there is some sort of geometry in that part of the area.

I've tested a workaround to this issue which involves copying the whole interior to a new world space (sorta like how Labyrinthan is set up). This solves the problem however doing this is more of a last-resort.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

you may need to tweak/finalize your navmesh again, as the linking can cause crashes if either door is not on a green navmesh tri..tbh I have been plagued by this error but think mine may be memory related..
