So, this is just something that's been bothering me a little bit lately, but my max hp ends in a 9, and I can't figure out why. Each time I level up health, I gain 10 hp, and I know I started with an hp number ending in 0, but somewhere along the line I seem to have lost 1hp. It doesn't really affect anything or make me die any faster, but it's bothering me. I tried stopping at a shrine to see if that would take care of it, but that didn't seem to do anything. Nor did my active effects list anything as affecting me that would cause something of this nature. So, I'm stumped. Any help?

When you look at your health in the skills menu is in written in green or white?

I just got on to check, and it and magic are written in green. Stamina's in white though.

That means it is boosted. You have a fortify health running somewhere. Check the magic page, active effects.

If you drink an fortify health potion while your health is very low might permanently boost your health. Not sure if patch 1.4 fixes this but it don't fixes already boosted health.
Pretty annoying as wheat and another common ingredient gives you heal+ fortify health.

Note this might be used as an exploit who can get you high health and let you increase stamina and magic at all level ups.
Be warned that high health makes you pretty impossible to kill and the game will be very easy.

that's what I thought, that I must have my hp boosted or something. However, it should show up on the active effects page, but nothing shows up that should have those effects.

As to the fortify health potions boosting permanently, I can't see anything else at the moment that could have caused this, and I know I've had to take several fortify health/ restore health pots, often right in a row. Damnit. if this is the case, I'm going to be stuck with hp ending in 9 for quite some time

Strip naked and go get a blessing of Talos to wipe any stat boosting blessings or stat lowering diseases...

ironically, I already did just that, up to and including the blessing of talos in particular. didn't change a thing. *shrugs* oh well.
