Will Keening ever be put to use? *poss spoilers*

I am kinda bummed out that this thing is useless, it would be perfect for a sneaky mage, or even a spellsword/battlemage. I really don't get why they made it have no charges at all, especially it is the final reward of a quest that has what, 4?, parts to it, all individual quests in themselves.

So do you think we will maybe get a DLC that may restore the keening or what? Its honestly the one weapon I want to use more than any other.

Doubt it, there would be no real reason to do anything like that. Even if we assume it's the real thing there would be no reason for it. That part of the story is finished.

Keening is a worthless item without the heart nearby and if it were to have it's full power the Dovahkin would have died picking it up.

Keening is a tonal item and Dwemer are famous for tonal magic. I'd be found a fool to say that keening will never have a purpose again.

Keening in full power will kill you instantly, you can not even handle the tools without Wraithguard on, or at least you shouldn't be able to.

Which leads me to believe that either the weapon is a fake, but that's kinda strange considering the outcome of the quest line where in you get it, or alternatively that it has weakened an incredible amount of the past 200 something years.

If Keening were to regain its strength then the hero of the story would die, so Keening won't get another use in this game. Perhaps in a future installment, but it and the heart will probably play larger roles then.

The destruction of the heart probably had long term effects on keening

Until the end of the questline, Keening (when equipped) will drain the health of the wielder.

This is one of those items where I can't decide if it's quirks are intentional or accidental. Still, I used it a weapon in MW so I installed this badboy to get my Keening back:

It does?
