Uh, no? There are many Elder Scrolls. They all do different things.

No, considering we don't have to give it to him.

You know that this series is the Elder Scrolls right?

If it meant one scroll it would be titled

The Elder Scroll V: Skyrim rather than The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

I am aware that there are several scrolls but I mean it would be so much simpler to kill him rather than go waay out of the way for another.

Why would I kill him to get an Elder Scroll wich is safely stored in my inventory?

They wouldnt let u kill him anyways, he plays an important part in the college and main quests so hes marked as essential.

Why? If you sold it, you should be able to buy it back too. Or at least get to use it for a little while. The Elder Scroll doesn't get destroyed when using it, plus most of us are Archmage by now if they were able to sell it to the librarian. So no need for drastic measures.
