so what happened to Alduin ? spoiler for end of game

Post » Fri Jun 22, 2012 12:15 am

so you know how at the end of the main quest when you kill Alduin for the last time but you don't get his sould. well were does he go then is he actually dead or is he just banished to some place like the deadra??

which leads to my next question if he is just banished then how long do you think it might be before he would be able to return and try and end the world again.

he goes away and waits for a future dlc ;)

i think they purposely didnt have you absorb his soul so they can write him back in later

Yeah I think he just went back to where he came from... so he can eat the world and restart things at a later date!

I think it was just a minor setback for him. In time he will return, and another will be blessed as a dragonborn to give mortals a fighting chance. Maybe it's game Akatosh likes to play when He's bored :hehe:

yeah i could see him coming back in anouther dlc maybe in the last and biggest one where say your fighting off the thalmer finally and toward the end he reapears. maybe make it to where killing the thalmer leader did some thing to cause his retaurn or some thing like that. idk tho about that sounds to dragon ball z ish to me but it could possibly work out.

Alduin is destined to end the world. He just went rogue and tried to end it too early. We won't see anymore of him, and when he returns, he won't be stopped. There won't be DLC about him. It'll probably be a few eras before that happens.

Here's my thoughts; be warned, I make no guarantee that this will make sense.

I kinda think that Alduin and Dovahkiin are the same spirit, the same soul, or two sides of the same coin if you will. You can't consume a soul that is already inside you. What I believe will happen is that the Dovahkiin will continue to go around and slay dragons, until a dragon finally kills him. When the Dovahkiin dies, the dragon that killed him will consume his soul, Alduin's soul. And that dragon will be re-born as the new Alduin and begin the cycle again.

You only banished him.
He is a dragon but a vastly more powerfull and quite a bit differnt.
You destroyed his physical form only. His soul is still free.
He's the first dragon. He is differnt than those who came after him.
He will be back.

He spends the next 10,000 years in a battered womens' shelter.

Technically, he's a god, not a dragon, therefore you wouldn't absorb his soul.

Talk to Arngeir and Parthurnaax about the fate of Anduin. One or the other has insights which may help.
