Hi fellas and ladies. I haven't played skyrim in a while, and now that I'm back I've found out that patch 1.5 implements a new feature in which smithing experience is a function of item value.

My question is, what is the quickest way (for a console player) to level smithing? I don't want to go to level 100 straight away, but occasionally I like to be able to move up 10 levels or so in one sitting without spending too time on it. I like to spend a while using each of the heavy armor types, so it's not necessary to reach 100 straight away.

Also, my character is a melee brute, so I don't want to invest in learning the transmute spell, which I've seen suggested elsewhere.
