So I was thinking about starting a new pure sword and board character with light armor (since i think heavy is to clunky) but I was wondering if there are any light armor shoulds out there. They only light armor shield I've seen out there is a hide shield, I cant remember finding any other light armor shield. But there are other light armor shields out there right?

You will be stuck with hide unfortunately until elven. Just wear a heavy shield, they work better until then.

To bad. But does heavy shields slows you down or is there no bigger difference between heavy and light shield?

There are Elven and Glass shields.

The nice thing is the Shield is ignored by the Armor perks that want you in the same armor or same armor type. So, you can mix and match shields freely. My otherwise LA character has a HA Ebony Shield as the enchantment on it is useful.

As for materials, Elven and Glass are what you are striving for with LA Shields.

Theres also an Imperial Light Shield. Its quite rare and only a little better than hide but it does look nice.
