What specs do i need to run Skyrim ?

Post » Fri Jun 22, 2012 3:53 am

Hi I'm new here so sorry if this is in wrong section or something . I have many hours on the xbox 360 but have heard good things about PC version so i was curious if i could run it smoothly.
If somone can post the required specs to run skyrim with no lag on high/ultra settings that would be amazing.

These are my specs taken from dxdiag. If there is something i may have missed let me know please
Also, my PC has some heat problems so i am gonna add a few fans, a few upgrades and a good cleaning. any input on what i can upgrade or fix about my pc would be awesome. Thank you!!

I'm computer illiterate, but you would probably get an answer asking in this thread:

Your pc is fine. I don't know why you would get the Xbox version with a rig like that.

Those specs can run Skyrim at max settings depending on what resolution you plan on using. For me, I run the game at max settings with 50 fps on average but I have a 22 inch monitor at 1680x1050 resolution and my specs aren't even as good as yours.

I have 1/3 the ram you have
windows xp
nvidia 260 gtx
AMD phenom BE 3.6 ghz
crappy hard drive confinguration

I run Skyrim at max settings very smoothy.

at LEAST one good eye (two is better), two working hands.

Hearing is a plus, not really required.

Recommend that you be less than 90 years old - otherwise reflexes are too slow

I updated all my drivers(i think) so im not sure what to do. If my pc cant run minecraft smooth how will it run skyrim smooth? :P

Do you have any other games to test besides minecraft? Your rig should have no problems with skyrim.

Any demo's or free games you can suggest to test my pc? just cause 2 is almost done downloading

Edit: Just cause 2 ran almost perfect on high/max settings. Was actually pretty fun too lol
