I can't get over the caves

Do the quests, "Discerning the Transmundane" and "Ill Met by Moonlight."

You will absolutely fall in love with the caves that are involved in those.

Oblivions had a more adventerous and dangerous feeling then the ones in skyrim. In oblivion you actually had dark caves, and the kill cams in skyrim just defeat the feeling of danger.

I find the caves in skyrim generic, over half of them are the same lame draugr which I got tired of after level 16. The only Draugr that are worth exploring for are the overlords as they can sometimes be a challenge and its fun, because your were either so close to defeat it or so close to get killed by it

I walk through all these incredible caves and I notice these beams of light coming from holes in the ceiling to the surface above. And then I ask myself, why haven't I ever fallen through some hole while walking outside and into one of these caves?

The adding of light and plants/trees really make some of these stand out.

Course then there is Blackreach. Holy cow.

The Lost Knife Hideout's main hall is pretty nice.
Are you serious?!? Jus the look of the scorched dead bodies on pikes makes me not want to go in there! But if it's nice enough to be your favorite then mayber I should try 'er out?

most of the caves are decent, i do get extremely bored of the dwemer ruins.

here is dwemer ruins in a nutshell: go left, go right,go right, go left, open door, left, right, open door, left, right, open door. boorish

At least in a cave, you have to back trail, pick paths, etc. OK, they aren't a ton different, but caves are much better in my exp. If not for Blackreach, the Demer ruins would really be the svck.

Black reach will forever be scorched in my memory!!! It's so big, with waterfalls glow in the dark stuff, just amazing!! I also like how if you look hard enough you can find journals of fallen treasure hunters, the remains of other explorers etc..etc... the list could go on, and I haven't even been to half of the locations yet!! :tes:

i thought i had hit every inch of blackreach, till i started a quest, where you have to find certain items, there was even more. I carry an a pic axe all the time, the time i don't, is when i went to blackreach. It's a gold mine down there for digging.!

I do believe it stretches the entire span of Skyrim, there are little nooks and crannies that I have yet to look in, I have yet to explore the fort that's in the center of Black reach etc.. IT"S JUST SOOOOO big!!! It is also my main source for raw materials like soul gems and what not.

Sometimes I feel like a break from what I'm doing and I'll enter a cave that I just found and sometimes I get real lucky and find some interesting stuff.

Blackreach is nothing but an undersized, overrated Underdark wannabe :P

Still the visual and "Beneath the Ice" background music make it quite nice experience.

Lost Knife Hideout's definitely got some character. Another cave where I was surprised by the contents was Cronvangr Cave. Let's just say there's more than just crawly critters in there! Wolfskull Cave has a nord tower ruin in it.

My favorite cave, besides Eldergleam Sanctuary (so epic!), is probably http://www.uesp.net/wiki/File:SR-interior-Shadowgreen_Cavern.jpg.

I dunno, they were much less linear in Oblivion. I liked that about them.

I agree.
Walking into a cave that has an open roof through which you can see the sky, trees growing in them, I love those caves.

It would be cool if those holes in the ceilings were actual holes in the above tamriel world space that you could fall to your death through were you not paying attention.
