Some people prefer not to be an Alcoholic, I have no problem going into a Tavern and saying :
I say good Sir! Get me some milk! (All Nords Gasp) :o

Lol, kind of funny imagining my Khajiit doing that :|

^ love the broscience, absolutely love it.

Raw milk is by far the most healthiest milk, google raw milk benefits. Pasturized stuff is poison. Before industrialisation, people drank water from natural sources ie streams/rivers. Water was pure and clean back in the day.

Dude, no. You don't drink water out of rivers because they're polluted by industry (although that is a potential reason not to), you don't drink out off rivers because animals defecate in the water, which breeds parasites. The reason renn fairs and RPG's are so big on the hooch is because back in medieval times, water was not safe to drink, but beer and wine were. And for the record, you are not allowed to use words like "broscience" unless you are, in fact, smarter than a bro.

Reading this thread made me so thirsty I had to go drink some purified water.
In Skyrim I'll have to settle for immersing myself in the clearest water I can find and cast Waterbreathing. If I can't drink it, I'll inhale it.

Just delete patch 1.5. it apparently didn't fix anything and made everything worse.

Can't drink the water, yet we can eat the tails of giant diseased rats, the toes of giant people, human fleshy bits, the eyes and teeth of saber cats and random dragonflies we find flying about in the air.

Snowberries it is. Nice and juicy, and full of benefits for resisting all sorts of magical nastiness. And they are everywhere.

Um, potions anyone? You can mix up your own non-alcoholic drinks from any of a variety of all-natural ingredients, and some of them are quite beneficial and won't kill you at all.

Potions are hardly fruit punch.
But I do see your point. Maybe calling them power smoothies would be better.

In an environment like Skyrim, you wouldn't drink anything that didn't have some alcohol in it... it would kill you. It's actually only been about the last 200 years or so that people have started drinking 'pure' water again. Milk would kill you back in those times... it simply wasn't a beverage that was available. Alcohol is a good way to remove all the nasty bugs from the beverage.

Someone has watched "How Beer Saved the World" :tops:
