Thalmor Story line?

Ok, I bet this has been asked before but where is the Thalmor story line? If they play such a huge party in the lore and in other quest lines, why do we not have a quest line for them? or at least more involved in the civil war quest line.

No storyline for them. They are just a main group of antagonists

I think that after you find out the Thalmor
Spoiler
arent connected to the dragons returning
the Dragonborn then has no real concern with them. And even in the civil war quests they arent the real protagonists, or atleast arent seen as that...
They're just something else out there in the world of Skyrim, with a few potential future quests? *hint hint* DLC.

Same. I was hoping for more quests involving the Thalmor too.

I'm piecing together bits of the lore so this'll probably come off as naive (Skyrim being my first game in the Oblivion series), anyway just a question on the Thalmor (or do I mean the Altmer dominion ?). I read someone mention their ultimate goal is to destroy Nirn. If this is an obvious fact why exactly did the whole truce with the Empire even happen ? From what I gather the Empire was on the verge of defeat so I just don't get why the High Elf guys wouldn't of just finished the job ? And from an Empire perspective I would assume when facing an enemy bent on destroying everything then peace would not even be a possibility ?

Hopefully we'll get some interesting perspectives from the Thalmor/Altmer side in the expansion... and horse combat !

How dare you think you are good enough to work for the Thalmors?

Yeah if anything comes out it is coming out for the DLC. Its just like here is an ultimate bad guy that isn't a giant magical being or god and you don't due battle with or deal with in anyway.

Elder scrolls series. Not Oblivion. That was the 4th one in the Elder Scrolls series. And the Thalmor's goal is similar to the Nazi's. They want to wipe out all non-High Elves, not destroy Nirn. Anyway, from what I understand of the war, the two sides were relatively evenly matched, and suffering heavy casualties on both sides, so the emperor made a strategic decision to essentially surrender. Both sides know that this is an uneasy peace, and war is essentially just around the corner.

I know of one quest where you can help the Thalmor out.

Just head to Markarth...

Ah cool, ta for clearing that up Andrew makes a bit more sense now.

Still the whole peace thing seems pretty pointless. Guess this whole civil war thing will just help the Thalmor finish the Empire. Unless the Dragons side with the Dragon born I spos. Hmmm.
