Walk next to me or stay back a bit. This worked well in FNV, I'd you want your companion to stay out of the battle and provide support, they will back up a bit. Or if you want them as a tank you get them to walk next to you.

Ranged or melee. I want my current follower (aela) to use archery against pretty much every enemy we come across, only switching to a weapon when they are up in her face, I don't want her charging into battle.

Attack everything you come across, attack nothing or attack only when I attack. An easy system to add in, it allows you to sneak with a follower instead of them attacking everything you come across like an idiot.

Change the command option. Allow me to command them to attempt a sneak attack (and make it possibly if they have good gear and a high sneak skill). Being able to give them a list of commands, command them to sneak to location A, then sneak to location B then attack enemy A.

Commands on the move. If I want them to follow me again, I can just shout (not the Thu'um) it instead of walking up to them and talking.

Allowing them to get on the horse with you.

Any more ideas or thoughts on these?

Btw if you give them a bow but let them use their default arrows they will use the new bow over their default bow, it's only when you give them arrows they switch to the hunting bow.

But she won't use the bow in any dungeon, she would rather use a pickaxe she finds or her fists than back away with a bow. Can't be bothered having a follower a the moment, maybe go for marcurio as he doesn't have this problem. Aela fits my characters playstyle so well though, annoying that the follower system is so [censored]e.

A little tweaking with "I need you to do something" would go along way, if they would do what you tell them indefinitely until you say otherwise D:
