Burning dragons show on map

Maybe I'm just slow, but I just noticed that when a dragon's corpse burns up it's visible on the main map.

The picture is a little small and the flame doesn't look like it's supposed to be there... though this intrigues me. I can't check it out tonight because I don't have time, but will definitely check it out tomorrow.

It actually makes sense that you can see a burning dragon on the map, considering it just zooms out. Makes me wonder about other related things that I will also check out tomorrow.

Never noticed that. I gotta check that next time I kill a dragon.

Sorry about the picture size, I just screenshotted the map and cut out the relevant part. I have another pic from a different location: http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v194/rivergoat/Skyrim/Skyrim%20Odd%20Stuff/?action=view¤t=AbsorbingaDragonSoul.jpg

I learned a couple of things trying to get a screenshot: The player marker will cover it up if you're too close, and the map visual disappears once you start absorbing the soul.

I'll try to get a bigger pic next time I'm dragonslaying.

Edit: Digging through my screenshots (I've got way too many!) I found another view of the first one, and a third dying dragon pic.

That last one is a pretty good sized pic.

So the so-called "map" really is a high-tech alien satellite system? Awesome. And in real-time? Double-awesome. I get dibs.

Bad attempt at wit aside, I just noticed it this weekend after I killed a dragon. I was like, "woah!"

Sorta.

You know that the distant mountains are just LOD meshes in place of the actual terrain. The minimap is literally the same thing just zoomed out from above.
