How to select right-left-hand weapon via Favorites?

Post » Fri Jun 22, 2012 6:33 am

Hi everyone,

currently I am trying to figure the following out:

I am playing a Battlemage (Dual-Wield Magic + Dual Wield weapons) and I would like to switch between both rapidly during Battle.

By selecting F in the item menue and then Q you can open the Favorites Menu. Let me give you an example:

Stage 1: I am using the spell "Oakflesh" in Dual Wield mode (by pressing twice the key "6")

Stage 2: I want to switch immediately, via short cuts, to Dual Wield weapons (dagger in left hand, mace in right hand). So the dagger is attributed to key 7, and the mace to 8. However, instead of putting one into the right and the other into the left hand both weapons get replaced. Expressed differently: when I press 7, my hero takes the dagger in his right hand. When I press 7 again he sheates it. When I press 8 the same happens with the mace. But how can I achieve that pressing 7 he takes, for example, the dagger into the left hand and by pressing 8 the mace into the right hand (without opening the Favorites-menu and selecting it manually)?

Greetings,

lead

My guess is you'll have to wait for a modder to fix it. 1.7 will probably be dance animations, 1.8 will be mudcrab pets, 1.9 will be new hairstyles... etc., etc. They are way too busy to bother with things like fixing bugs and improving gameplay.

Essentially, you can't. This has always been the case, and I suspect it always will be, as it would mean adding key-bindings, probably combined ones (say shift-fx). I believe that there's a way for XBox people to do something similar though. And yes, it's very annoying having to pause repeatedly to do what you want.

It might be possible if instead of binding weapons only directly, you could also bind weapon "setups".

If you are playing on the XBox 360 (which I know you are not) you call up your Favourite Items and squeeze the appropriate left or right trigger to equip in that hand.

Can anyone playing on the PC but using an Xbox 360 controller (as many say they do) confirm if this works the same for you as well?

And similarly selecting with left and right mouse buttons equips them in the corresponding hand.

I don,t think the OP has an issue with actually "equipping" an item from the fav list. I see the OP having an issue with the "hot keys" and DW. This has been a problem since day one. The hot keys are not just very limited as in number of hot keys, but they do not work well, if at all, with DW.

Few weapons (one I know of) will actually do it right. Unfortunately it's a basic iron dagger that allows this.

I see what you mean.

The controller lets you go through things pretty quickly.

I'm sure the mouse must be just as functional.

What he's looking for would be "pre-sets" then.

Hopefully someone else can help then.

Not true. That only applies to the iron dagger, that I have found.

If you equip any other weapons in both hands, use a hot key for a spell, it will equip the spell in the left hand. You then, must enter the fav, or in some cases the inventory to reequip the left hand.
