A Vampire is Meridia's Champion

Post » Fri Jun 22, 2012 2:09 am

I completed the Meridia daedric lord quest as a vampire. This doesn't make much sense, lorewise, but I did it.

While it's pretty silly the alternative is to restrict the quest to non-vampires, which would draw complaints from "do everything" characters and the rare person playing a benign vampiric vampire-hunter.

Not necessarily. If being a vampire would exclude me from Meridia's quest, it might open up further quest material from Molag Bal, who is the creator of vampires.

It could be true also that Meridia didn't know my true nature, however unlikely that seems.

I had that happen the other way around a while ago. Here was my character a vampire that dual-wielded Dawnbreaker and Mehrune's Razor while being attacked by vampires that were automatically hostile

Lots of  in that sentence :hehe:

But on the other hand, who says Daedric Princes can't be hypocrites? ;)

The vampire who hunts vampires isn't an unknown character: Blade from the Marvel comics, Jander Sunstar from the D&D novels, Constantine from Robin McKinely's Sunshine, (Vampire Hunter) D from the manga series and anime movies, et cetera.

It goes against TES openness to put in lots of restrictions. Players are welcome to restrict themselves, but what works for one person might not work for another. I rarely join more than one guild with a character, but my wife joins everything.

But on the other hand, who says Daedric Princes can't be hypocrites?

I just realized that I did this too recently and now I have lost all motivation to continue playing my current character! As someone who RPs Skyrim as "realistic" as possible, being a vampire of Meridia makes no sense.

I wouldn't trust a daedra, if I were you. Why it could be tomorrow that Meridia shouts "tricked you!", then takes your soul and her sword back. Remember Azura? As if she didn't know that destroying the heart would also destroy Morrowind. I reckon that whole ordeal was her plan from the start.

This. I am sure some vampires in the Elder Scrolls hunt other vampires. Especially if they are from other clans.

Throwback to that Janus Hassildor quest.

Meridia states that, "whatever... every time you kill using my blade, you'll spread my name...", thats why Ive the sword locked up inside a chest in my vampire lair(its just breezehome).
