Soul cairn. You get a whole oblivion realm. Expect something the size of blackreach.

I'm thinking it will be the stone circle near Morthal and may have something to do with what the Morthal wizard says about vampires - Say no more in case of spoilers here!

I'm hoping some massive castle doesn't suddenly appear in some remote part of the Skyrim map that we've already covered and it's as though it was always there.

Blackreach was great considering it was in vanilla........ but its tiny for what i would expect from an expansion.
so i would guess bigger

I don't expect the Soul Cairn to be this big in Dawnguard, but I hope so.

According to Todd, the Dawnguard faction is centred on crafting and exploring.
So there must be new areas to explore.

Expect two massive castles to appear out of nowhere. The volkihar castle is a little more understandable because it's far up north in the icy ocean but it will be interesting to hear the explanation of the dawnguard castle in the rift.

Considering it's just a part of the DLC i'd say it's pretty good.

i consider anything over 1200 mp to be an expansion... and if your dlc is priced at 1200 it better be damn good

I hate it when they do that. I was hoping that both were in Soul Cairn. That or Fort Dawnguard was just over the border southwest of the present map.

Back in Oblivion I would have preferred Battlehorn Castle & Frostcrag Spire to have been part of an add-on to rebuild Kvatch.

well, we do not know where Dawnguard castle is... It just looks like it is the rift.

Castle volkihar appears to be on an island to the north.

but I really do expect the soul cairn to contain the majority of new places to explore.

I watched Gamespot go by the Beth booth earlier and they had an interview with the art director who said that there will be new seamless locations to explore integrated into the Skyrim map as well as Soul Cairn, the gates to Soul Cairn are on the edge of the map.

I understand where you're coming from, but Skyrim isn't supposed to be to scale of the lore, so you could just pretend it was around the region and hadn't come across it yet!

Hi there Chronicler of Legends! How you doin'?

Soul cairn. You get a whole oblivion realm. Expect something the size of blackreach.

Not just that. From what I could gather from Matt Carofano's interview to Gamespot, they've added new landmass besides Soul cairn.

Really? Thats good news. I'm excited for Soul Cairn and all but I was hoping there would be some more landmass to explore.

Is there any other confirmation of this? This would be great

New Features > New Land... I mean what so good about new land? You cam probably explore all of it than less of a day then your done. New features would give us weeks if not months of new enjoyment, & features would be a lot easier to add than land.

In this case I think we have both.

This DLC will have the most new game features so far of bethesda DLC.
And I think we have plenty new land to explore, they are just keeping it under wraps.

Sounds good. New areas to explore are where the gameplay in a game like this comes from.

Thanks, didn't see that before... It sounds like he says that there are new locations, but not new landmasses added to the map, other than Soul Cairn. But he does seem to act like that gates leading to the other provinces might be opened up in a later DLC. I'm keeping my fingers crossed
