Conjuration and paladin

Should I take conjuration? It has some good aspects but also some negative so I'm slightly confused if I should take it as a paladin.

What is it you particularly like about Conjuration? Generally most Paladins would shun anything associated with Oblivion and Daedra, or undead for that matter. Even conjured weapons would be based on that "foul" power.

The only spells I could see working for you are the Banishing spells. However, you could also consider conjured weapons to be "fighting fire with fire".

There is at least one legit spell for a Paladin to use in the Conjuration tree. Banish/Expel Daedra. Very holy imo

On the topic of daedra and paladins, there are a couple of really awesome items a paladin could use.
Spoiler
Peryite's Spellbreaker, and Meridia's Dawnbreaker.

If you're a hardcoe roleplayer you might avoid these, but otherwise they're very fitting.

They are items associated with the daedra.

Why would they be avoided?

1) They are Daedra. Paladins usually (but not always) associate themselves with the Nine Divines.

2) Second, Paladins are (again, not always) Lawful Good. Daedra tend to not care about the sufferings of mortals. I haven't actually done the Peryite quest, but from what I've read, it may involve some morally questionable actions.

If your Paladin is somewhat relaxed on his oaths and feels no qualms serving the Nine and a Daedric Lord, Meridia would be the most likely candidate. Remember though that it was Meridia who aided Umaril the Unfeathered against the Knights of the Nine.

This entirely, although I will add that no Daedra is good nor evil; they are akin to forces of nature. Mehrunes Dagon is destruction, and paladins destroy their enemies, of course.

Even a heavy roleplaying Paladin could find some logic in their tasks.

If I was to make a paladin in this game I think I'd go the restoration / sword n board route. Conjuration just doesn't seem to fit.

You're kind of taking the D&D focus of paladins and putting them through the prism of skyrim. I could see someone being a paladin of Meridia, she hates undead and is not really considered by most to be evil at all.

Vigilants however, are purely and wholly anti-Daedra (as well as anti-witch and anti-vampire).

paladins aren't in the Elder Scrolls! silly people.
if you're going for a paladin-based character, i would avoid any daedric association and be more like the Vigilant. though, working for the good daedra like Meridia or Azura wouldn't be all bad.
