Also its not that I want to do it, I just want to know what it does so I no not to use it but if it somehow is helpful and not game breaking I can consider it.

the fortify restoration glitch is caused by fortify restoration potions that increase the potency of that school. SCHOOL not just spells. not gonna say more than that.

It's not something you would easily stumble upon by accident - it requires carefully following a series of steps that involve your crafting skills. If you really want to try it out, check out the UESP site. However, since the glitch has no upper limit and hasn't been patched out or capped (yet), it *is* potentially game-breaking. Some of its effects, taken to ridiculous extremes, can cause skills such as sneak to malfunction. Used in moderation, it's a complicated method for breaking the limits on enchantment and smithing, or giving yourself a de-facto god mode.

Well I keep reading how doing this can OP the character immensely; however I never craft potions so I'm not seeing how potions will up your abilities any further than I can do with just smithing and enchanting. The blacksmith potions I've found in game don't seem to mesh with the enchanted smighing gear. Or if they do it is not worth it at all.

I asked what the glitch is, how can I be more specific than that?

Well can you make a smithing potion that fortifies smithing by 2000% ? Or can you make a fortify enchant potion that's 2000% better ? This is what you can do with the " restoration potion loop ", you can create crafting potions or any potions for that matter that are doing insane amounts of fortify or what ever the potion does. If you have the correct perks picked you can make armor with insane amounts of armor rating or weapons that are doing insane amounts of dammage, but you can find a comfortable zone by experimenting. I generally make smithing potions that are around 600-700% which translates to armor rating of 1500ish and weapon damage of around 200, I have tested to see just how high you can push it and I got to an armor rating of 4billion and weapon damage of 7-8billion but it was silly and boring. If you do over do it the stats of your armor and weapons will fall into the negative and become useless forcing you to start over

That really does sound stupid and game breaking, but whatever other people want to do they can do.

Hey, I loved 100% chameleon in Oblivion. That glitch is the only way to get it back in Skyrim, but you have to be in sneak mode, so it's more like the Chinese Stealth Suit. You can waltz through dungeons and kill people in broad daylight. I miss that suit and I miss being a ghost man.

Well the comfortable zone for me is the 600-700% range for me, I wear clothing instead of armor but I do wear boots and gauntlets. So my armor rating with just boots, gauntlets and clothing is at armor cap, my weapons are dealing just the right amount of damage so that the fights feel " good " to me and not one sided. I play on master and HATE how a sod wearing fur armor and carrying an iron sword can walk up to me and one hit kill me, all while I'm wearing a full set of daedric aromr smithed legit up to 2000 or how he's able to one hit me with that iron sword yet my daedric sword doing the normal amount of damage takes 3-4 strikes to drop him. So all I'm doing is leveling the playing field, anyone in decent armor still stands a really good chance against me yet someone in low Lv. armor like fur doesn't have a chance, I'm not one hitting dragons or anything put it that way.

Ok then. Abusing their silly alchimy tree is clearly the issue here as like I said I never use it.
With my current smithing gear and smithing at 100% I can make an azurebrand (one of the Jaysus upgrades) to 275, but that is with 5/5 ranks in one handed so w/o those perks it would be 137.5. I'm using it over one of the dumb ass looking daedric swords. [censored] thing would do maore damage to the wielder than anything it hits. Stupid [censored] barbs pointing right at the hands...

I must be in the minority here as going out of my way to break [censored] games just isn't interesting to me.

You'd be surprised. I have smithing 1200% potions and my glass sword only does like 90 damage, my Nightingale armor has about 400 armor, and the cap is 567.
The most useful thing about it is that it can effectively replace several perks. I don't need to use perks on the 1 handed, 2 handed, light and heavy armor perks for increasing armor rating and damage because I can replace those with these potions.

Just know your limits if you want to use it, don't go to ridiculous extremes.

My game works just fine thanks
I do play legit as well, if I get board of my " God " toon or my " Demi god " toon, then I play my legit game for a little challenge. On master the game feels off balance to me when it comes to combat, so to counter this feeling I exploit the game a little. Not enough to " break " my game as you put it, just a little bit.
Now your post came off a little bit condescending to me, kinda like your looking down your nose at me for using the exploits. I play my way and you play yours no need to judge me or look down upon me solely based on the fact that I said I use the exploits, what I do has no impact on you what so ever. But looking down your nose at me or talking to me in a condescending matter has an effect on me, so in the future I would ask that you chose your words more carefully with me because next time I may not be as nice as I'm being now, there's plenty of room on my warn status bar.
If I miss took what you said then I'm sorry for giving you that warning, but to be safe I rather give a warn then shoot my face off first.
