So we all have encountered those kinds of soul gems, but I'm not really sure what to do with them exactly. I carry empty and full ones around with me just to fill them up but other than that and using them for very weak enchantments, is there no other use for them? They don't fetch a very useful penny either.

Unless I'm not aware, I think that it would be pretty cool if we could "combine" X amount of gems to upgrade them so to speak.

I use them to recharge enchanted weapons.

yes and soul trap cause you only really need the soul trap to last 1 second any way

They're also good for practice to level up your enchantment skill.

You could use them to enchant useless weapons to make them more valuable and sell them. I think banish has the highest value.

They only give me like 2-3 charges at most though.

Whereas if I use a Grand Soul Gem I get ~150

I use them to build up my enchantment skill, plus I mainly enchant gold jewelry and turn a pretty good profit doing that.

true, but it helps to level enchanting all the same.

it seems that lower level souls (ie wolves) are more likely go to a little low level soul gems -- in a way it helps to keep grand gems grand....

i usually just gather up a bunch and go out with a soul trap bow and kill all the deer, wolves and mudcrabs i can find

i do the same -- have gold to burn after a certain point in the game -- sell off the all expect grand and black

question: for enchantment, are black any better then grand?
