All races are good to play as. It is more for preference than anything else.

Races mean almost nothing in Skyrim. Orcs can be just as good mages as high elves, high elves can be just as good melee tanks as orcs. Its not world of warcraft its all about looks in Skyrim.

The only thing that matters is the power. For instances ors beserker rage means better assins and melee fighters.

Argonians and their histskin ability can come in handy for any play-style.

I seldom use racial abilities. You can make any race any class. Just choose whats most aesthetically pleasing. Tis what I would do.

Because its a one day power you will most likely forget to use it...It honestly means very little to revolve a character around it.

So realistically all classes are the same in Skyrim, pick what you think looks the best.

Yes like it should be, don't feel restricted with your race and just play how you want to play.

This. With powers limited to once a day, they are all but useless. I usually forget that I have them. The only choices which makes a difference are ones based on things like resistances etc, such as Altmer for mages, as you get a chunk of extra magicka. Some like Bretons for their magic resistance. Otherwise I go for a race based purely on the RP aspect. In the vast majority of cases the differences even out very quickly. But I'd put the best all-round race as Altmer.

I think all the races are good to play as. For more interesting builds I recomend using races which have no advantage for a certain playstyle in their racial power, racial ability and lore.

But remember, Skyrim is for the Nords. And magic is for Elves and weaker races. Orcs are Elves.

I'm always a Breton in all elder scrolls game (at least my first character is)
That is because they are good at magic but can still wield an axe.

All the races are good. Just find which one interests you and try it out. You've got nothing to lose and can always delete the save if you really hate the character.

I like the high elves because they are the biggest model in the game. I can't play a warrior class as some midget looking character. Plus, any magic using class will benefit from their extra magika and you will definitely notice a difference in the early and mid game.

I did my first playthroughs of both Oblivion and Skyrim with Dark Elf characters.

However, at the moment, I'm playing a male Nord, as I find that I can find a home ANYWHERE, without having to fear that I will not fit in. Also, the Nords are natural warriors (or so I find), so I find it so much easier to play as a warrior style character.

Don't do it OP. He is trying to miss leed you. You should play as an Argonian or an Khajiit instead.

I'm liking my Imperial because I feel like she's well-rounded, but like others said, you should go for a look that you like because after a few levels it will all even out.
