I would be a dunmer and I would choose sorcerer and train myself in the college before heading to Telvannis to see what I can learn from the wizard lords of old.

i'd love to be a very powerful immortal breton or altmer mage. like mannimarco. studied for years at the arcane univercity and then moved to the college of winterhold. keeping myself alive and young through magical means

I'd be a Daedric prince if only to escape to Oblivion when Skyrim starts swallowing its people up to their waste, rains animals and dragons, or just has parts of it disappearing.

Plus, who'd want to travel by horse in Skyrim? It would take hours just to go 300 feet because they tire too quickly.

I would bring a fly swatter for all the bugs.

I don't know what race I should be but i'd head to the nearest settlement. Make a living on whatever valuable job said village/town/city have, and when I am old enough, I might join the Imperial Legion. (They probably have better pay then the Stormcloaks.) or become a mercenary. Or just stay in that settlement.

Altmer in Solitude working in law enforcement, bringing all these "oh I'm so evil"-wannabees to justice. They are easy to spot, because of their tight pants or over-the top armor.

Race: Argonian.( I want to be a 7ft tall muscular argonian.)

I'd be a Nord warrior, and I'd try to unite the Stormcloaks, Empire, Blades, Greybeards, College of Winterhold and the Companions (and maybe the Thieves' Guild and Dark Brotherhood) into one [censored]-off huge army, then destroy the Thalmor. Then unite everyone under the Empire and try to get all the races and factions to live in peace.

Nord / Ranger. Live in a nice place by the river on the west side of Shearpoint. Between the Dragon flying overhead and the dragon priest at the top of the hill I would think I would be left alone by most of the nasty's and the dead bandits and adventurers that would be dead half way up the mountain would provide with a nice income after cleaning up the messes and taking their loot.

I would be dead. Died in Helgen before I even got to choose what I looked like. Heart attack. Maybe hurt myself in the fall from the carriage. Doesn't matter. I would be DEAD.

With that seriousness level I'll be a troll living under the Dragonreach dungeon and feasting with the flesh of prisoners.

Altmer battlemage. Live in Solitude and dedicate most of my time to the destruction of the Thalmor and restoring the honor of Talos. Would also have some fun using wooden bowls to teleport into the girls locker room.

I think people are viewing this as a RP thread, not a "What if you personally woke up in Skyrim" thread... I'm changing my answer to super mega ultra Arch Mage that has all equipment enchanted to resist all magic, and make destruction spells cost nothing at all so I could magic blitz everything! And i'd be an essential character who could only be knocked unconscious! Being the arch mage obviously gives me the right to invincibility.
I'd also be a Vampire so I could live forever, I'd eventually grow to rule the entire nation of Skyrim! And then I'd move to the neighboring nations and conquer them. Once I got to Cyrodil I would make my own spell that does like, 1000 Fire Damage at a 20 foot radius!
Once I reached Morrowind I would grab a Levitation spell, and maybe a teleportation one as well. Yeah...
