Skyrim Suggestion: In-game Books -> eReader

Post » Fri Jun 22, 2012 3:08 pm

While playing Skyrim I am not normally in the right frame of mind to stop playing and read the books that I collect in game.

However I really would like to read them as I'm sure they would add to my gaming experience.

My suggestion is to for in-game books to become real books by adding a 'Kindle/eBook Reader Integration' feature.

At the point in time that a new book is read in the game, an electronic form of the book (.mobi / .pdf) could be sent to the player's Kindle email address.

I believe this would make the game more immersive as I'd be able to experience the game even when not directly playing it.

I think there is somewhere you can read them.. a website or something. Someone else may shed more light on this. I stumbled across something about it once and probably couldn't find it now. :P But I'm sure it's out there.

They already exist on epub; I've got them in my ereader. :) Search the web for "books of skyrim epub".

Several people have compiled epub and mobi files of all Skyrim and even all Elder Scrolls books. In case you only find epub, I think Amazon has some web services to convert them or you look for a ebook management software called Calibre.

It's a real pleasure to be able to read all the stuff while not lurking in front of a PC. But of course only the books you've already found in game. Don't cheat! Hunting books ingame can quickly become fun :-D
