Alchemy with no restoration

I am considering this kind of build. You use only alchemy for healing and stamina. I think this because in combat to use restoration you need a free hand, and magica. Alchemy you just insta slurp it down. Restoration when you are using archery gets annoying, I use archery lots. Or would it be best to do a 50 50 style, using healing when weilding a sword or spell then potions when using the bow.

I just use potions during combat, and healing afterwards. I think you COULD use just potions though and not bother with Restoration if that's what you want to do. Healing just saves on potions.

On my assassin character I avoid all forms of magic (no spells or enchanted gear) so I completely rely on alchemy for healing, poisons, or what have you. It works just fine, though with alchemy you have to be a little more involved than with restoration.

I would recommend choosing one or the other and sticking to it.
