The point of soul gem fragments? : V

I was just wondering if they had any use. Are they able to be combined to make whole soul gems or are they just eye candy?

I don't know how but if you do a quest and have either the Black soul gem fragments or the regular, it will make either a Black soul gem or a Common one.

They are just minor loot and pretty items for decoration.
