Actor will not enter or leave home

The actor I created will not leave his home, he uses his sandbox home package until the eat/sleep start, he has a patrol package and a patrol route outside that works only when he is out of the house and when he is outside he will not enter his home. Is there a tutorial on linking a home to an actor anywhere or could someone give a list of things to do for this to happen. Thanks

could be nav meshing
I had similar issues with my companions entering leaving cells. you have to make sure you have your door portal on a nav node. you may need to re-map the areas inside and out. make sure you click the check mark to finalize too.

Marker was off a bit , I fixed that and he still refuses to leave

Has to be a not working navmesh. As thoughthorder said, did you finalize and is the door portal on a nav node? Did you do it on both doors?

if nav node means being inside the redzone then yes and yes both doors were fixed and finalized

I would try to rebuild, There is a webpage called www.theengineeringguild.co.uk or something like that. the guy talks about mod corruption depending on how many hours you work on the mod and how much ram you have. since then I have developed a new way of modding were I make a couple changes, close then reload. My first ever attemtp at a merch the merch wouldn`t sell anything and I follow all the steps correctly, things would disapear and companions wouldn`t enter but could leave, or vise versa or neither and never both. after using the mod for an hour and restart have have not had and of these corruption issues. if that is what they are. If I were you I would try to rebuild the nav mesh again, try a different design, honeycomb, spiderweb, checkered to see if it works. best I can suggest. good luck

ok so when I attack him inside the house he follows me out I go back in and he follows me in so there shouldnt be any nav problem right? Before when i attacked him he wouldnt follow me out, so now im thinking its something else maybe a package or something not checked

Awesome test and I concur with your theory. Combat ignores AI. That is a fact. What is he doing when he is supposed to leave or not be there?

what is the location/reference setting on the patrol package? is it specifically set to where you want him to start his patrol? also is allow wandering set to true?

reference is set to the first marker outside his house and I dont see a allow wandering in this package

ok i figured it out, the reason he was not leaving was because when i moved him from outside to inside he lost his Linked Ref and his sandbox home package was set to Any time so i guess he figured why patrol when i can stay home all day, lol. Thanks for the help lads. I'll upload my village to the workshop when its complete. Now I have to figure out how to remove the Iron Mine from the middle of the garden, it doesnt show up in the Kit but is there in the game.
