I just realized that my ctrl + left mouse button for lowering the terrain in drawing mode does not work anymore
Could someone please help me out here?

ctrl + left mouse? Is that really a function? Never heard of it or used it.

left mouse + moving mouse cursor down lowerss terrain, left mouse + moving up = raise terrain.

If you checked "soften vertices" the terrain is made more smooth with the left mouse button
"flatten vertices" will raise all terrain in the circle to the height of the terrain at the mouse cursor.
with "edit colors" the left mouse button will tint the terrain in the left color.

but I like to play around with the new draw mode.

Look here, it's an official shortcut, and it worked for me last week...but today I realized that it's not working anymore
Maybe the latest CK update killed it?

Ah, okay so you need to press "r" to enter that mode...

Works fine here, with the latest CK. Are you editing on the border of the loaded cells? You can't edit landscape if the change would affect land in a cell that isn't currently loaded.

Yes, raising the terrain works fine, just lowering it with keeping ctrl pressed does not work anymore
