Will my character be to weak for Dawnguard?

Post » Sun Jun 24, 2012 8:11 am

The character that I'm playing right now is level 36 mage who changed courses halfway through from sneak guy to wizard, even on novice I still get my ass kicked by frost dragons. I heard about the new super powerful dragons and armoured trolls and I'm worried that my character is way to weak. Can anyone who got into the dawngaurd beta help me with the answer? (also, am I aloud to swear or should I censor this?)

Ask me again sometime next week when the DLC comes out and I might have a definite answer for you.

Plenty strong enough, what they meant by its for higher levels is that you wont be seeing levels lower then 10 even if you try to play it as a level 2.

It also uses level scaling like the base game. That means if your a level 81, thats when your gonna see Legendary Dragons, maybe a little before that... but you get the picture.

At level 36 the dragons will level to you bassically.

I can't disclose much but I think you'll be fine. Also keep in mind you do have a week before the DLC officially releases you could always make a new character, just remember to initiate the quest for Dawnguard you need to be level 10+.

You'll be fine around pretty much any level, if you have trouble lower the difficulty or level some more.

They said if your below 10 you'll have a rough time but I doubt that you will, Vamipre Lord seems more for Mage orientated characters

Neither of us can say anything until next week. At least not anything that isn't already public knowledge.

Well considering you need to be level 10 to play Dawnguard, and your 37... You will stand a chance.
You need to think, a lot of people will be making new characters once Dawnguard is release. Bethesda wouldn't make it too hard for people who made new characters for the DLC in general. If you ever played Shivering Isles, it was meant for higher level players, but I still had a easy time at level 22 and you had to be level 10 to enter the isles.

So overall, you will be fine. If you are taking hits hard, and or your dieing a lot. Just put the difficulty down a notch.
