Full house editing

Post » Sun Jun 24, 2012 9:01 am

I know there is quite a large amount of avid aesthetic lovers in this community, myself being one of them. So it only seems fitting that even if it isn't patched into this game, that maybe it could possibly added to the next TES game.

The ability to fully edit your house. This should include:

-The ability to buy/craft different types or furniture (dwemer, orsimer, nordic, imperial, etc.) and replace pre-existing arrangements.

-Item placement, fully equipped with rotation degrees and the ability to gauge blades into surfaces (I've always wanted to be able to place daggers into maps on tables and such)

-Purchase/craft bookshelves, weapon racks, armour stands, wall mounts, and glass cases.

-Ability to place everything you want it via a house editor mode (placing bookshelves where you wish, etc.)

Of course this is a rather extensive change in housing. I realize that this is asking a lot, which is why I would like it in Skyrim, but may need to wait until TES VI (Should Bethesda agree that housing options need to be revamped). I'm definitely not asking for the ability to construct one's own house, just to have better editting abilities, as well as being able to place items without taking 20 minutes to place potions in a line (which isn't even possible anymore because of the reverse gravity we've been experiencing lately)

Am I the only one who feels this would greatly increase the feeling of "home" when entering one's estate?

The more personlization the better.

But its doubtful will see this in Skyrim, maybe a future TES?

Anyways, get ready for some

"This is not The Elder Scrolls: Sims" (Honestly that would be a fun sims game )

Tho i like the idea of a heightend persistence on house decor. Maybe leave the ability to place things on your own, but when your shoping for the house, have the ability to buy different furniture, and different styles of that furniture. They would have pre set places already tho.

I'm so disappointed. I thought this was going to be about the Olsen twins.

I'm not asking for the addition of rooms, just the ability to edit already existing rooms. Any Sims references made will be by bafoons with a linear sense of options for Skyrim.

The housing options for Skyrim is very basic and really should include more abilities than sleeping in a bed, using skill tables, and storing loot. We should be able to make houses our homes.

Thank you for your support though :)

Lmao, nice reference. No, however the ability to have "little" helpers around the house would be cool too :P

You know that blood fountain they showed in the Dawnguard trailer?

I want that in my Windhelm house's secret compartment room.

I've yet to buy the house in windhelm, but if there was a reasonable way to craft it and the space is big enough, who's to say you couldn't make a vampiric shrine or something? :P

What i would really really like to see is the ability to get a fort. Completly customizable from the ground up. Types of archetecture and all. I would also like the ability to choose where the Fort is. I would love to have a Fort somewhere out near Winterhold, in the snowy tundra. I would also like one in the planes outside Whiterun. Maybe one in the marshes of Morthal, and ones in the hills near Markarth. I would like one near the lake outside riften, and one in the forest near falkreath.

All holds as areas to build (Pre-set locations)
Quest relating to getting your Castle (Earn some Major respect with the hold your building in... higher then Thane)
Ability to decide if you want archetecture like the Orc Strongholds, Dwemer's, Stone Walled Forts, etc.
Ability to actually populate the fort with traders, and guards alike.
Random Raids on your fort, by either Dragon, Bandits, or enemy factions (Stormcloaks if your an Imperial like thing)
Ability to make your own banner, and emblem (Or take on your holds emblem)
Ability to name your Fort (I hate how the only thing you can name, is yourself... i wana name my horse, my dog, and my fort)
Ability to use it as your Player Home
Cost tons of money, and ther are tons of upgrades (We need things to spend our gold on)
Maybe even the ability to have a steady source of income due to farming, or mining, depending on where your forts located
Personal Smiths that can make higher level armours, like ebony and deadric, and if payed good money can upgrade weapons.
Personal Enchanters that can enchant your weapons for a good price
Personal Guards (Can be used as companions)
Ability to set up embacy's for guilds and factions (Imperial Embacy, Companion Embacy, etc.)
Large Armoury (Very Expensive to buy) that includes at least 5 manicans, lots of wall hangings and weapon racks, as well as display cases.
Sercret Escape Passage
Wine Celler
etc.

I would pay a good $15 for something like this, if it had many options.

P.S: PS3 player, i cant get any mods :(

House personalization sounds like an excellent idea.
In lieu of a completely customizable house, I would settle for:
1. More of EVERYTHING - chests, bookshelves, weapons and shield racks, display cases, and mannequins in particular.
2. FULLY EQUIPPED HOUSES - I hate, for instance, that I don't have an arcane enchanter in Whiterun. It's a major source of annoyance. I'd also like to have a backyard with forge, smelter, woodchopping block, tanner, table and grinder.
3. A garden that can be renewed/replanted.
4. Renewable supplies - returning to a Jarl's steward to be able to buy refreshes of alchemy ingredients and foods.
5. Choices for housecarls. I absolutely HATE having those apeish guys in Markarth and Windhelm, and would vastly prefer to have the cute chick housecarls.
6. A mantelpiece dedicated to the thane's weapon or shield for that home.

Some fun things to have:
- how about letting me fish off the balcony of Honeyside?
- I'd like to have useable roofs on every one of the homes.
- Windows with closeable shutters so that I can look out on the street whenever I want, and let in more light.
- FIREPLACES IN ALL THE HOMES. THose open pits with no chimney are repellent.
