Simple Vampirism question!

Hey folks!

With all the hype for Dawnguard and Vampirism in Skyrim in general at the moment, I decided to go ahead and give being a bloodsvcker a shot.

I haven't tried it since Oblivion, in which I got the dreaded "Revert to facial default" glitch every single time. Being on the Xbox, I had no means of fixing this - so I never tried again.

However, after venturing into the vampire den in Mara's Eye Pond, and contracting the disease.. I was seeing similar reactions.

As a ravid reader of the wiki and lurker of these fine forums, i'm aware that my appearance is supposed to get progressively worse the longer I go without feeding.

..Is this supposed to revert upon feeding and being tossed back to stage one? Or was I experiencing a random bug?

As soon as I got the "Your blood boils as your vampiric powers take hold!" message, my skin darkened considerably, and my eyes went blood red. Permanently. No matter how long it had been since I last fed. I did not however, like in Oblivion - experience any facial reconstruction. As someone that puts a lot of stock in how their characters look, I got frustrated with this and just reverted to an old save.

So, I suppose my question is - Was I glitched? Or was this supposed to happen?

The face never changes once you become a vampire, and I'm pretty sure it's a glitch where you become dark when turning into one. It seems the skin color is supposed to go one down on the scale, but if it's already at the buttom it just goes aroud to the darkest.

And the red eyes never change, always like that.

Becoming a Vampire in Vanilla Skyrim gives you red and black eyes (if you're a man or mer race), paler skin color and fangs but the fangs are only visible if your character opens his mouth..like when hes/shes getting attacked or if you crouch near a wall and spin the camera around so it lets you see inside their head..lol

Face itself doesn't change.

Probably got the Burned Face Bug. Reload an earlier save and try it again.
