Whiterun's Tree (Glitch)

Post » Wed Jun 27, 2012 5:32 am

There is a quest which requires the player to either heal or renew Whiterun's tree. I decided to renew the tree which should have technically replaced the old dead tree with a smaller alive tree.
However ever since I've finished that quest a few months ago both the old tree as well as the new smaller tree have been stuck in the same spot.

This is obviously a glitch which I've been hoping that would be fixed by now. I do not desire to replay the game from scratch as I've done so many quests so far.

How can I fix this issue? (XBOX 360)

NOTE - I've posted this in the "Skyrim Hardware and Software Issues Subforums" and waited but had no response.

As you are on the Xbox I don't think there is any way to fix it.

I've never seen the tree replaced, on any of my various characters who did the quest. The tree just remains dead looking. I'm on PC and I guess it's one of the million Skyrim glitches or stories that were not thought fully through. It's not game breaking though and who cares what the tree looks like, as long as the quest is marked complete. LOL

Yeah, I got that too. No way to fix it for us poor 360ites.

I like to think that it's just the sap bringing the tree back to life slowly, from the bottom up, and that the new branches were always there.

This is very annoying considering I have OCD and everything must be perfect.

Here goes another night's sleep.

Yeah, you and everyone else on the [censored] internet. :ermm:

Anyways, I thought it was intentional.

I wish they'd fix it. It's totally not a big deal at all, but for me, I can't take the "Good" solution to this quest because of it. So I stick with mutilating the glorious Eldergleam.

What? New tree? What always happens for me is the tree just blooms. Same tree, less dead looking. There's a choice for this quest?
