THIS IS SO ANNOYING:

I updated Skyrim to the latest version (1.6.89.0.6 I think) and opened up the skyrim launcher to launch some mods, (I reinstalled skyrim before the update, btw) and the data files option was greyed out. I tried doing the bEnableFileSelection=1 method, but it didnt work. Can anyone help me?
PS. I could install mods mods normally in oblivion but not Skyrim.

Go to My Documents/My Games/Skyrim then go into SkyrimPrefs.ini , find the line [Launcher] and under that write bEnableFileSelection=1

So in the ini it should look like this

[Launcher]
bEnableFileSelection=1


I've never had to do it, it was always set like that.

Why do you reinstall a game before a new patch? I even installed mods without doing everything you are doing. I patch and do not have to reinstall the game everytime.
