46 hours into the game and haven't yet encoutnered any drago

Post » Thu Jun 28, 2012 10:13 am

These well preserved 46 hours have been spent roaming around Skyrim explorng the wilds and clearing out camps, dungeons, settlements and dungeons with fast the fast travel option disabled.

Other than that i have no mod installed that messed with the dragon encounters or spawn rates.

My jimmy's are rustled.

What, you've not even encountered the opening scene dragon? Have you spent 46 hours just creating your character!? ;)

Your first dragon fight is scripted a bit far into the main quest to make it more epic. If you haven't experienced that yet (and you can't miss it), then you won't randomly encounter dragons in the wild.

It would appear that if you don't fast travel you don't get (m)any random dragons. I have the same issue. I see maybe three in a playtrough, and atleast 2 of those fly away withut fighting :swear:

Oh well, i have an increased spawns mod now, and each dragon lair has three of them. At the same time :bolt:

I realised my topic isn't entirely true and I would like toe xpress my apologies cause I however did encounter the opening sequence dragon at Helgen - but other than that, no dragons roaming freely around Skyrim yet.

Dragons do start to spawn only after you kill the first one in the main quest. There won't be ever any before that.

After the introduction sequence was done and I killed the dragon, I followed Hadvar to Riverwood of which he insisted I join and seek out the imperal legion. I haven't done anything more in the main quest section.

You killed the dragon in the opening sequence?? Then there certainly won't be any other dragons =)

What you have to do is
Spoiler
go to Whiterun and speak to the Jarl. Then you will be sent on your first quest to kill a dragon (not in Helgen) and after that they will spawn randomly and can be found at predetermined locations.

Go to Whiterun. Talk to the Jarl. You'll have dragons coming out of your Sightless Pit in no time.

I'm not sure how you managed it, but if this is true then for all practical purposes you have already finished the main quest. Kudos! :P

Well, I suppose that's better than rustling Li'l Jimmys.

Sorry, WWE joke.

Since everyone else here was kind enough to point it out...I won't bother telling you that you need to coninue the Main Quest before you encounter Dragons. And since others have mentioned it, I won't include that you should Fast Travel as much as possible to ensure you get even MORE dragons on your travels after continuing with the Main Questline.

After all, if I were to tell you those things...it would be redundant. And I'm just not that guy.
