More player freedom in Skyrim

Something that I belive would make skyrim so much better is the option to have your own hold as. the charecter and by having that hold you would have to stimulate it economy from a small settlement all the way to a large city that would make you its leader. You could do this by having a place that is destroyed and by having whichever side of the civil war you chose reward you with the "key" to the city. A few idea places are the various destroyed forts and towns that you could begin to rebuild in any way you pleased with your races charecteristic homes ( orc stronghold, khajit trade town, nord keep, etc.) And by having questlines of defending the town from dragons, bandits, etc, and also by quests to stimulate the towns economy by protecting trade caravans or boats based on where your located, which in turn would attract more towns people and merchants. Also the ability ti create your own palace would be far enjoyed by a majority of fans. Commets ideas?

I'll pass. There are other games for that sort of thing and I'm not interested in them so adding that sort of stuff to Skyrim wouldn't be of any value to me. There's a reason the Jarls you see in the game never leave their palaces, it's because they've got cities to run and that means mail to read and letters to write and laws to enact and papers to shuffle  I don't want to stimulate economies and administer governments and make policy. I play games to have fun and those things just sound like work to me.

Also, where are you going to get your own hold? There are only nine in Skyrim and they already have rulers drawn from the local Nord clans whose bloodlines give them a legitimate claim to those positiions.
