Abandonded Prison

Post » Mon Jul 02, 2012 9:29 am

Well I've been exploring and came across the Abandoned Prison. After some time looking around I came across some orders to the Imperial Guards stationed there. The orders told the guards of an incoming flood and to evacuate immediately. How ever the orders then went on to talk about the prisoners telling the guards to either kill the prisoners they had or to let them drown in there cells.

What the hell is that about?. Just goes to show how the Empire treats its prisoners. They kill people for not having any proof of who they are and now I've found out they even let prisoners die. I don't see how the Empire and the officers who sent these orders can get away with things like this.

Edit: If anyone whats to check this place out for themselfs here is a link to the http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Abandoned_Prison page that has a map linked with the location.

Imagine if you were a prisoner who was due to be released in the Morning.

Yes, this is what this place is about. There were many reasons why a large part of the population of Tamriel became unhappy with the Empire.

They had to evacuate and they just couldn't let the prisoners out!
And the storm was about to wash the whole fort into the river!

These were prisoners, not people yet to be convicted. Think about where that prison is. Its on the other side of a flowing river in the middle of the wilderness. This wasn't a town's prison where common thieves were sent. No, more like this was a higher security prison were bandits and murderers were sent. What do you think they would have done if they were released?

Letting them drown in there cells was not the right thing to do. It was a prison the guards were well armed you can find a few heavy imperial armour stilll around the prison leading us to belive that they weren't just in leather armour. I'm sure they could handle a few prisoners.

And I'm sure a guard of a Skyrim hold would have been just as charitable. Or maybe you think the Thalmor would have done things differently?
In the world of the Elder Scrolls, a Prisoner isn't human. Just trash that should just sit down and shut up until they earn their freedom.
