Vampire Lord (spoilers)

Post » Mon Jul 02, 2012 4:21 am

I dont know if it was meant to be like this, but I feel that there are some issues in the Design...

Most of your "Mini Side-Quests" involve going into caves/etc...Yet the Vampire Lord Model is constatnly too big to fit through doors/walkways (Not EVERY time, but OFTEN and that's without 'hovering' ). I find myself transforming out of the VL over and over again just to take 2-3 steps forward because I was too big to get through the door/walkway...Also, you cannot open doors, or interact with objects in this form? (Doors, Buttons, Levers, Chains, Etc)

I hadnt played with the Werewolf in a while, but I'm pretty sure they could open doors? (I honestly dont remember.) However, I am sure that the VL has an opposible thumb...So doors should not be an issue.

The Vampire Lord form can be fun, but it takes away from the Immersion of being just that if I have to transform out of the form 8-10 times a dungeon because I cant open a door, or my head is hitting some invisible ceiling/archway.
is there any way to Scale the model down just a little in a future update? The werewolf was bigger than "Normal" size, but I dont recall any issues with hitting the ceilings/being blocked by invisible ceilings.

It should be feasible to make the VL a little smaller, but still keep the general "I'm bigger than you" feel to it...Also, I may just be relying on the ability more often than it was intended for...?

Yeah, VL is useless for dungeon crawling.

I don't mind tbh because it's pretty vicious and sometimes I feel guilty using it.
You can really make a mockery out of multiple opponents on open ground and if there's a large body of water nearby... it's almost a joke.

In dungeons it's best used in boss rooms... but you kinda have to know what's about to happen because the change animation takes so long... but that's probably to prevent players breaking the game by changing 1000 times in under a minute for shizz n giggles.

It's a right situation thing... and when in that favorable situation, it kills.
The excrement hits the fan, you hulk out... you kill whatever needs killing then you revert and carry on about your business.

I think of it more like a weapon than a character role.

I could not for the life of me open a door...I dont know why, but I had to end up doing the "Hold A" on companion, and telling them to do it.

Same with a lever further in the dungeon...Maybe it was coincidence...But I'll try again next time I change.

It kinda felt like this as I was roaming the dungeons...I kept Reverting to get through a door, and then everytime I made it to an open area, I was in combat before I could change...I'll probably adjust to only use it as a "Hulk out" situation thing though...Thanks for the Advice

I just use it outdoors and kill everything in my path.

This looks like a Dawnguard specific thread. I think it belongs in the Dawnguard forum.

Another handy tip, learned from playing the pre-dawnguard werewolves. Invest in fleshspells. VL's are essentialy naked, so dual casting say, Stoneflesh with all three perks of MageArmor make an already boss battle form into a tank. out of curiousity has anyone else experience a serious drop in what the life-draining blast can do?! When I first got it the thing felt riddiculously overpowered but now it barely seems to do anything. The onlything i've been leveling is the VL form itself.
