Plugged my computer into my new 64-inch TV

Post » Sun Jul 01, 2012 10:11 pm

Holy crap! Wow, the difference between playing at a 21-inch and a 64-inch screen is huge. The mountains actually feel colossal, the valleys and waterfalls are breathtaking, the stars in the night sky look magical, and the dragon encounters are intimidating. I never imagined that the differences would be so big. I definitely recommend plugging your computer inte a bigger screen.

Are your PC specs good? I bet on a nice looking TV, a high end PC would look great, especially if you can get it running at something higher than 30 FPS.

Yeah, I get 50+ fps at highest settings. It does look stunning.

I loved Skyrim on my xbox with the 55" tv. But the quality is so much better on my PC so I'm okay with the 24" screen. But I wish they'd give proper support for eyefinity setups. I bet it'd be really nice on triple monitors. :D

You should use your 55" with the PC. ^^

I played on the Xbox and a 47" Plasma for quite some time. I recently made the move to PC and it's like day and night. The same TV and the same controller. It's the same gameplay with better graphics and...mods!

I've thought about it... I may try at some point. Gotta move things around though for it and not excited about that part of it. :P

Once you've moved, you'll never change back. :P

I believe there are adapters and similar stuff that solves that problem

I was surprised to find how many adapters there are now. You can get an HDMI to DVI at most places. If you only have VGA there are adapters for that as well.

My PC and xbox are both plugged into my 32" LCD tv, but my PC couldn't dream of running Skyrim.

I've been wanting to play on my television for months now, any game, really, but I'd have to set up my computer down in the living room and I have tenants who might not appreciate me sitting on the couch all day hogging the TV while utterly entranced.

I used my PS3 with a 14 year old TV until I bought my first flat TV just a few months ago. It was quite a difference! Been thinking about connecting the computer to it too, would be quite nice to see games in true 1080p (instead of just being upscaled 720p), but I would need a very long HDMI cable for that.

I used to play Oblivion on a projector screen with home theatre surround sound. Now that was something.

Oh gosh. So do I now.

I've waited so long for the driver update to make that happen. Before I got like 30 because Crossfire didn't work. Now it's finally 40-60 at all times in glorious ultra+ with ENB. Sadly crossfire breaks bokeh DoF and redone ENB shadows, so when I want to make screenshots for my config I'll need to switch crossfire off.
